We are in trouble now....

About 3 weeks ago we were over at Kira and Bob's  (Nick's older sister and brother in law) house hanging out.  I was helping Kira package some meat for the freezer and Kinley was playing on the kitchen floor behind us.   I turned around to check on her to make sure she had not gone too far, and not all that much to my surprise she was not where we had left her.  I started looking around the front of the kitchen bar to see if she had crawled under the kitchen table when we saw her....climbing up the stairs!  OH MY HECK?!  Really?!  We are in trouble now......nobody showed her how to do that!  Bobby hurried and ran over to her so that if she fell back someone would be there to catch her.  She made it all the way to the top all by herself (with a little urging on from Uncle Bobby) :D .

She was so proud of herself! :)
Crazy girl!  Learning new things everyday!

Happy Halloween-Day 2

Happy Halloween!  Today was much calmer than yesterday!  We celebrated Halloween with a 3 hour nap all together and a little bit of Trunk or Treating. :) By 7:30pm Kinley was out like a light.  Guess the last few days of Halloween fun wore her out!

Here is our little lady bug.  Sadly, she kept pulling off her wings and shoes so I didnt get a picture of her all put together but such is life! :)

 Yummy Candy!
I have had a dish full of these candy canes under our coffee table for the last month.  Kinley goes over every morning and tips it over.  Today I decided to asses the damage and see how many were broken.  5 out of 26 survived and were still on one piece after the falls.

So, as many of you know I am working a graveyard shift.  I was looking through a friend's facebook pictures to wake me up a little..all I have to say is I have the COOLEST HIGH SCHOOL FRIENDS EVER!  Love you Tali!  You crack me up!
I hope you all had a happy Halloween!

Our Little Pumpkin

Halloween part 1 today was extremely eventful. Kinley and I started our morning off at the elementary school parade to watch Tanner and Kylee, then we went to Novell to see all the fun costumes. After, we joined Grandma (my Mom, still seems strange she is called Grandma) Kylee, Tanner, and Great Grandma Cherry at Grandpa's work.  We made out good with a bag of candy.  Kinley LOVES dum dums! :)   After that, we went to Adobe to join Nick in the HUGE Adobe/Omiture Halloween tradition.  For those of you who don't know what I am talking about....there are really no words to explain it in a way to do it justice without seeing it for yourself.  The office doesn't even look like a workplace, its a HUGE haunted house/made up world.  Its great.  This year consisted of a man made indoor waterfall from the ceiling to the floor in the "Lego Indiana Jones" area, Ice sculptures, a slide going from one floor to the next, a 300 lb tanning bed in Nick's office (The command center for the Avatar section)
Here are a few pictures...(I didn't take these, they are from one of Nick's co workers, and this is not the finished product of the Avatar Pandora section, but it might give you an idea of what this "office" turns into at Halloween!)

AND, there was so much more!

After the Adobe/Omniture fun Nick, Kinley, and I went and picked out some pumpkins to carve.
We got home and got started..

She was disgusted by the guts of the pumpkin...she just kept making faces, and touching it with one finger.

 We finished....
Thats where the Our Little Pumpkin title comes into play....
She was a little confused at first...
Then she decided she would see what it was all about....naturally, like any child her age, through tasting it.
Shortly after, she was done playing...and just ready for bed.
I am sure she will look at this picture later in life and wonder what the heck is wrong with her parents, but hey...what can we say?  We thought we were quite creative. :)
So, we gave her a bath...
and off to bed our little cutie went after a LONG day of being a little lady bug (Pictures of that soon)
Good Night!

Its easier to fail with a friend!

My friend Holly and I had the brilliant idea that we should make some pomegranate jelly.  Bountiful Basket was offering cases of pomegranates and Holly had a recipe from her Grandma that she said was delicious!  I had access to a juicer, so we thought, how hard could this be?

Little did we know, Our hoped couple hour project would turn into a late night and a  HUGE mess!

We were so excited so at 5:30pm we started cutting...

and Juicing...

and waiting....

By 8:00pm we had juiced 24 lbs of pomegranates and had enough juice to start our first couple batches of Jelly!

Well, by 9:30pm we still didnt have it at a rolling boil, and it was a DARK, DEEP red color!
Finally we had it boiling at around 10:00...
but when we added the sugar something just didn't seem right....our Jelly had turned into sugared pomegranate gak-like sludge!

We knew it wasn't right, but we valiantly trudged on thinking by some miracle MAYBE it would fix itself and thin out...silly us. :)

By about 10:30pm the real mess started when I tried to tip the second jar upside down to seal and the ring and lid just popped off! (It was sealed nice and tight, Holly can testify!)
We started poking at the sludge that had spilled and it was quickly hardening, acting more like candy.  So in our valiant efforts trying to not waste the 24 lbs of pomegranates and juice that we had just worked so hard on we tried a few things...

Making them into a fruit Rollup.....
 FAIL....

Putting it in molds to make hard candy
BIGGER FAIL...

We even tried to reheat it and use it as syrup.....
 EPIC FAIL!

We gave up and started cleaning up our mess while we juiced another 24 lbs of pomegranates for try #2 the next morning.

We both felt pretty bummed that it hadnt worked out but we were laughing so hard we couldn't even focus.  Funnier how it is easier to fail when you have a friend failing with you! ;)

By 1am we were saying our goodbyes.

The next morning Holly came over and we tried again, only this time, we used a larger burner which brought the juice to a boil MUCH faster.  When we added the sugar, it actually melted down and when we poured it into our jars, it set up like real jelly should!  We of course had to sample our NEW concoction.  I'm happy to report that it was DELICIOUS!

Minty Fresh

There she was, being SO good sitting and playing in her pack and play.  It has been about 5 min and she was seeming very content.  Not a sound out of her mouth other than happy cooing.  I went over to see what was keeping her so entertained when I saw this....
Yes, a used to be full container of little mints...

Now, call me a bad parent if you would like, but I had NO idea this was even in her toy basket, or how she got the lid off!

She had been chowin' down on them!  Lovin every single one!  She sure did have some minty fresh breath, even the drool on her shirt was minty!
Although we were laughing we are sure glad she didn't choke! better watch her even closer now that I know she can open up containers I cannot even get open sometimes!

Silly Girl!

So Behind!

Do you guys ever get so behind on things you just can't see a possible way of getting back on track, or ahead?!  That is my life right now.  Don't get me wrong, I love it!  However, the blog has been suffering!  I don't think I have EVER gone this long without posting before.  O well, I guess there has to be a first for everything right?  :)

So, in an attempt to get ahead again I am just going to post a couple pictures to get everyone caught up, and then start of fresh again!

Kinley has teeth
We had quite the experience trying to get a picture of her little teeth!
Every time I see this picture I cannot help but laugh.  This was seriously a game for her!
  Got em!
They are almost completely in now, and she is working on a couple more!

Because of teething, Kinleys sleep schedule has been REALLY off.  Poor girl, she has had the hardest time getting to sleep even though she is SO tired.  I put her in her swing one night to help her calm down and this is what I came back to find.
Too Cute!
Luckily she is getting Night and Day figured out again!  Slowly, but its coming! :)

Remember the first rain storm we had a few weeks ago?  Well, Kinley got real curious about what all the noise was, so I opened the screen for her.  She just sat there watching for a good 5 min.  (that is FOREVER for a little girl that normally cant hold still for a couple seconds!)

Due to a change in my work schedule I get to be home 24-7 with my little girl now!  So we have been getting to spend a lot of quality time playing!  It has been great!
and we have been spending a lot of time playing with Aunt Kylee after she gets out of kindergarten! She always wants to come help me babysit Kinley!

Kinley has learned to clap all by herself! Her favorite song right now is If Your Happy and You Know It!  She will even start clapping when she wants you to sing it!  CUTEST thing EVER!

Getting into EVERYTHING!  Crawling and Pulling up.  What more is there to say about it? :o}
(Side Note:  Her hair is finally long enough to pull into a little ponytail!  I LOVE it)

Oh the adventures she has now that she can get anywhere she wants. :)
She is growing WAY too fast for me!  I cannot believe she is already 9 months old!
