CHAMBER SINGER ALTO!

I got a text message VERY early this morning (3am) from my little sister Kynsie. I would have wanted to kill her if the text message said anything different than what it said. "I HAVE BEEN KIDNAPPED BY THE RUSSIAN MAFIA!" I was thrilled, she had been kidnapped by the current PHS chamber singers altos, and was going through "initiation"! She is going to be a chamber singers alto next year! Whoohoo! I am so happy for her...It was one of the best experiences I had in High School to be part of that choir...no let me take that back...it WAS the best :)

It was so fun for me to see that the traditions we started for initiations the first year Coach Mendenhall was the director are still around. Crazy PINK hair and make up, being given a "Russian" Mafia name and taken "captive" to a house to do something like....watch all 6 hours of pride and prejudice, or being taken to a park and being forced to play Frisbee in your pajamas at 3:30 in the morning when the only place you want to be is in bed. :) Then the next morning you go to class and sleep through EVERYTHING! (Good Luck on the state Chemistry final Kyns!)

Im really glad that she is going to get to do this!

Change is Hard...

Its Crazy to me looking back on my life how fast things change. It seems like just yesterday that I was playing at the park across from my house. Flying a kite with my Dad and younger sisters as a little girl. Last night I was talking to my mom about everything that was going on up on Grandview Hill and what was going on with all the people I know and have had relationships with as a child, teenager...and still a teenager :) ...as strange as it is to have a relationship with the crossing guards and the mail lady..:)..they are sometimes the most amazing people and the people that influence you the most. During our conversation she told me a few things that really hit home. She told me that all the plans Provo school district has been making to tear down Grandview Elementary had gone through and everything was final. The school that I went to from Kindergarten to 6th Grade. The park that I played at from the time I was 2-19 years old. Its just one of those things that makes you a little bit sad...but you know there is nothing that you can do about.

When Change happens its always hard but somehow things always work out. However, when things like this happen it always makes me remember that I need to cherish what I have..not take advantage of the people and places that I love because one day...they might be gone..Last night when I was talking to Nick I told him that sometimes I wish we didn't live so close to everything I grew up around, because what I don't know wont hurt me and he reminded me that I should be glad I live so close so I can take advantage of the opportunity I have to let those people know how much they have influenced my life. (Thanks Pal, It made me feel a lot better). I think this is something that we all need to think about..because fact of the matter is, change is everywhere and we all take advantage of things that we just "have", but we need to make sure we appreciate everything that happens in our lives. Good or bad, so we don't regret not taking advantage of an opportunity to thank or be appreciative later when the opportunity is gone.

Our Parents

Our parents were so great through the whole thing! They were so supportive and wanted things to be Perfect for us! The 3 Months of planning were dedicated to us and I KNOW my mom lost sleep over it and I am sure everyone else did too. We owe them big time! Thanks ALL!

All the Austins were there too. Alex was cold and tired and stuck it out to the end! Bob and Kira were with him all day long. They are so sweet to him!

Not only did WE stand in the cold but all of our immediate family and the majority of our extended family were there supporting us in our decision!

December 2008

Well....Long story made short...I might have married my best friend! Nick and I dated for about a year and after all the fun dates going to movies, playing pool, and even Nickel Arcade I decided I wanted to keep him, and was lucky enough he felt the same way. We were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on December 14th 2008 at 10:40am. ( He even stuck out 16 degrees for me...so did both our families!)

Back in December 2007

Back in December 2007 I started working at Novell as a Customer Service Rep. When I started working there I was excited but at the same time I was going to work with a bunch of computer Nerds. As a 18 year old girl that is not where I thought I would find any prospects for dating....well...I was so very wrong. ... Come to find out I found my best friend there.
