Baby Update

Well, there have been a few changes, and big things that have happened the last few days- the main thing.....I am due the Middle of February...or should I say was. I am going to be induced in 1 week (at the latest).

This last Monday I woke up and was SO SWOLLEN I could hardly close my hand into a fist. So, I decided to call the doctor and get checked up on. Good thing I did. My blood pressure was through the roof due to water retention.

As of Monday the Doctor put put me on bed rest for 2 weeks and said at that point they would induce me.

Today I had a follow up appointment. I thought I was going to get an A+ on my bed rest. I lost 7 lbs of water weight and could see my ankle bone. :) That was HUGE progress....then they took my blood pressure.... It was higher than it had been on Monday, and I had higher protein levels. So, they sent me off to the hospital for a non stress test and said that they want to induce me in a week.

So, as of now we will see where I am at next week after more bed rest, 2 more stress tests, a doctors apt, and an ultrasound to measure the baby's growth to make sure he/she is ready and developed enough to come.

The Baby's Room

I am still working on getting the baby's room completely decorated. I have a few odds and ends that I have to get done such as putting up some vinyl lettering, putting pictures in picture frames, and organizing a little more. But, for the most part the room is done.

The pictures are not true to color, but close enough. I decided to go with the "Old Americana" theme. I think its turned out great. :)

Here is the Crib and Bedding. I found the bedding a while ago and loved it. Its called "Little Patriot". I got such a great deal on it too, so that was a plus!This elephants name is Ashby. Jenn Cherry (my cousin's wife) crocheted it for the baby for Christmas! It was her first time trying a project like this, so she named it Ashby, since the name started with the letter A. She wants to do one for every letter of the alphabet. How cute did it turn out though!! She even stitched some cherries on its hind end to remind us that no matter what the cherries have our backs. :) When I opened up the gift I thought it was the most adorable thing I had ever seen!

I am planning on filling those empty picture frames with some family pictures we get taken after the baby is here.

For Some Reason I just like this hamper :)

I couldn't find any curtains that matched, so, I just made my own. Pretty basic, but they do the job.

I needed to find a way to stay organized. So, this is what I came up with for right now. Its working great! We have a full sized closet for the baby so the other half has been reserved for clothes, toys etc. and in this half I have all the bath stuff, lotions, diapers, wipes etc. Now I just need to get all the baskets labeled!

So, there it is! Now all I need to do is put the finishing touches on...and Wha-la!

Game Night

Cory and Daana came to Utah to visit this last week. So, Sunday night Cory & Daana, and Rob & Amanda came over for dinner and games.

Rob brought over a game called Lightning Reaction. Don't you think if there is a warning on the box of a game that says "Warning: Do NOT play if pregnant." Maybe, just maybe you should think twice before playing?! That didnt stop the boys. Pretty much the last person to hit the button when a light stops flashing gets shocked...

Nick Lost...

After a few rounds of getting Shocked Nick decided he was done. :) And we moved into the other room to play some other games.

We ended up playing Uno. Daana ALMOST wone twice the first round. We started playing not knowing that Daana wasnt sure of the rules...She got down to her last card and didn't say "uno". So Nick called uno on her and she had to draw a card. Later, that same round she got down to her last card and said, "Before anyone calls me on it UNO!" and then she laid down her last card face up for everyone to see! We all busted up laughing. asking her what in the HECK she was doing showing us her last card! She thought once she called Uno she had won. After she had explained herself Cory followed by saying, "What mexican doesnt know how to play Uno?!" We all started laughing again. It was too funny!

The Golden 50th

After an accomplishment this big....they definitely deserved a PARTY!

Grandma and Grandpa Jensen celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary December 17th 2009.

January 2nd we got together as a family to celebrate! We had a night full of Food, Talents, pictures (old, and new), laughs, and Dancing.

We even had dance instructors come and teach us the swing, the twist, fox trot, and a whole lot more. It was a blast watching everyone laugh all night long.

As a gift to Grandpa and Grandma Holly put together a tribute book that she made on shutterfly. Starting with Grandpa and Grandma's baby picture, going through their dating, wedding, each child being born, family activities, and ending with tributes from all of their children and grandchildren.

Here are a few of the pages dedicated to their engagement. It was a lot of fun being able to see pictures of them when they were young.

Aunt Sue put together the decorations and center pieces. They were amazing. The Theme was "Lost In The 50s Tonight" and "One Enchanted Evening" (their song). She decorated with old style coke and orange crush bottles, records, candy from the 50s and all sorts of other fun stuff.

She even had their cake recreated for them. With their original cake toppers, and had made doves and flowers. They even made the top layer of the cake gluten free! Grandma was able to have her first bite of cake in the last 2 years.

Cabin Weekend

Friday Jan 1st, Nick and I headed up to Altamont for the Tucker family Christmas/New Years Party. Each year the family rents a cabin and the fun starts.

The Night Started off with Pizza and operation "Red Box". (maybe not so legal Fireworks).

We then stayed up WAY too late (2:30am) playing games. Mainly Card Games and the dice game Toss Up.

The Next morning people were all over doing all sorts of different things.

Dad was reading.

Mom, Grandma Tucker, and Alex were playing Bingo.

Naturally, the Boys were playing Xbox.

and last but not least, it wouldnt be a family reunion without Grandpa Tucker getting his solitare on.

Later that Night the rest of the family got there- There was a gift exchange and the kids acted out the Nativity. The party was a huge success and a ton of fun. Can't wait til' next year!

Twenty Ten

Happy New Year!!

Two Thousand Ten! Can you believe it?!

With New years comes new resolutions right? :) I decided to post a list of mine here so I remeber what they are. Im only focusing on 8 goals in an attempt to accomplish them...even though I hopefully will accomplish more. Start small right?

Alright Here they are:

1- Attend the temple at least once a month

2-Tame the Buldge! Get Back into Shape!

3- Enjoy Life More- Slow down & enjoy the small things in life.

4- Spend more quality time with Nick, Family, and Friends.

5- Spend Less & Save More- Change our budget so that we can stay out of debt!

(Even thought I wont be working a full 40 hours, so I can be home with the baby)

6- Start Scrapbooking the baby NOW & Stay caught up!

7- Read More Books

8- Learn Something new- This one TECHNICALLY has already been accomplished. Jan 1st I played my very first game of scrabble! Arent you SO proud of me?! ;) But, I will keep looking for something a little bigger to learn this year. :)

Christmas 2009

Christmas this year was a lot of fun! I don't really have any pictures because I worked both Christmas Eve and Christmas, so the computer was in my hands not the camera. But I got to work from home both days so I didn't miss out on much of anything. Christmas Eve started out at the Cherry's where we had dinner, played apples to apples, and watched movies. Then like every year we opened one gift. (Whoohoo New Christmas PJs!) During the month of December Jason kept telling Kylee that she was going to get coal from Santa Clause. Christmas Eve Jason opened the gift from Kylee. She handed him the little wrapped gift and just started giggling. If her hands were not over her mouth I don't think she could have contained herself. As he pulled the paper off it became VERY apparent why she was laughing so hard. She had given him a bag of Chocolate Coal. Too Funny!

That night Nick and I headed over to Mom & Dad's house. We opened up another gift as a family that is always a children's book to remind us of the true meaning of Christmas, and the Savior's birth. (Mom always gets a book that has a CD with it so the kids can listen to the story again as they go to sleep.) After Mom finished reading the book everyone headed downstairs to bed so Santa could come.

Nick and I decided to sleep over since it would be a lot easier to just wake up with them, and sure enough 5:30am rolled along and I was being tapped by brothers and sisters wanting me to get up so we could all go up and see what Santa had brought.

Everyone got more than what they asked for. Santa even brought me a Video Camera so we have something to tape the baby with, and brought Nick some new rock climbing gear.

Later Christmas morning we headed over to Nicks parents to see what the boys got. They all got remote control helicopters.

We ended up getting Nate and Alex some nurf guns for Christmas. Here is the highlight....Those nerf guns were used to shoot down enemy helicopters for about 2 hours that night. The boys had a blast. I am sure Santa enjoyed watching $40 helicopters being shot down but hey, none got broken and as you can see.....boy did they have fun!

Brought out the little boy in my MAN! :) Too funny and gotta' admit pretty cute. :)

We had a great Christmas break spending time and having a blast with Family.
Cant wait til next year when we have a little one of our own to spoil (a little) :D
