Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival 2013

We got to go to the Tulip Festival this year up at Thanksgiving Point this year with Holly, Aaron, and their little Mr. :)

The Colors and smells were beautiful!
and it was good to get away for some much needed time out of the house for the girls, and us too!
Kinley thought this stamp was the BEST part of the whole trip.  When we got home and took a bath she was VERY upset when she discovered it was gone and told me we needed to go get another one!

 QUESTION:
When did my baby start looking so much like a little girl?!

Gotta love his Sweet little guys Profile! :)  Is he not the cutest?!

Kinley Loved feeding the Coy Fish!  They loved the food too!

Oh My sweet Mila.  If your face doesn't describe pure joy I don't know what does!

It was beautiful!  We will definitely be going next year!

The Fifth Ninja Turtle

Happy 28th Birthday Ninja Nick!  You read that right 28 and Ninja in the same sentence. :)  My mom always made a big deal out of our Birthdays growing up and that is a tradition that I have tried to carry on in our family.  Everyone deserves to have a day completely dedicated to themselves once a year!  right?! :)

Anyway,  This year I was having a hard time coming up with a theme for Nick because he didnt really have anything new that he was doing.  Mostly just working hard, and helping me out a lot with the girls... SO, I decided to take a blast to the past... ALL the way back to Ninja Turtle days...
You know... back to when he looked like this...

hahaha.... alright, alright... he looked like this...
He LOVED Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a little boy.

Either way, I thought if nothing else he might at least get a good laugh out of a Ninja Turtle theme.
So, I hit up pinterest for a few fun ideas :)

and as always... Pinterest didnt fail me!

Then for the cake!  Ignore my cake handwriting... I need to work on it... However for free-hand pipping the image.. I think I did pretty dang good! :)

Nick had a release night the night before his birthday (goes to work at 9am and comes home between 4 and 9 the next morning) I found these really awesome balloons with glowsticks in them and decided that would be a perfect way to wish him Happy Birthday, and let him know I was thinking about him since he was coming home when it would be dark.  They were awesome!!
He says that was he favorite part out of all of it!

Kinley was SO excited to give Nick his gifts.  Either that or she was excited to help him open them. :)

Later that evening we had the family over for Some cheap Pizza (do you get it? the theme) (*wink*) and Cake.

Bob Trying to give Nick his birthday spankings.  Oh, the love.
Just a good excuse to wrestle. :)

Happy Birthday Mr!  One year closer to 30 buddy! haha! *wink*

ALL by HERSELF!

Kinley has always been independent and that trait is definitely one that she develops more and more each day!   Sometimes it can be extremely frustrating.  However, some days the girl surprises me by doing something like this... ALL BY HERSELF!  "I did it Mom! I make my bed all by myself!"  Lets hope this habit sticks! :)

Planting Strawberries

After figuring out that the basement was flooded due to Kinley "just watering the yellow flowers" by the window well we decided to get her a few pots and strawberry plants to water and take care of.  It also might help the budget a little...who am I kidding?  This girl eats strawberries like they are going out of style...... if that even makes sense :) do strawberries go out of style?! :)

She had a lot of fun planting them.
Dad bringing home her surprise strawberry plants!
Mila just enjoyed watching and playing outside

We told her that if she made sure to water them, and take care of them everyday that soon the bees would make the plants grow little flowers and then the flowers would turn to strawberries.

Sure enough, one morning on our way to the library for story time she found....
Her very first blossom!
