32 Weeks Down, 8 To Go

This last Tuesday I had another doctors apt. We have 8 weeks to go and we can't wait until this little one is finally here!

I am measuring at 33cm and although the baby is head down its still sitting high in my pelvis. Since were waiting for the "Its A .....!!" Moment to find out if its a boy or girl my doctor has been having fun guessing each month if it is a girl or boy based on the speed of the heartbeat. He has guessed girl EVERY month... Until This last week....for the first time he guessed boy!! (He told us up front that he is only right 1/2 the time though. ;D)
8 weeks and we will know!

Here I am at 32 Weeks!
(Can I REALLY get bigger than this?!)

Happy 2 Year Anniversary!!
We have made it 2 years! Whoohoo! Go us!
This year our anniversary was spent at home because of Nick having to take his final for his Physics class, and his Mom getting neck surgery.
Even with everything going on we still managed to fit in some time together, and dinner at Chili's though :)

Nick got home from class at 9:00pm and walked through the door with these beautiful flowers. :) and Chocolates (even though I am not supposed to have too much sugar thanks to our friend gestational diabetes)
Then he handed me a bag- inside was a 4GB SD card to use with a digital picture frame that my parents had given me for my birthday this year.
He definitely beat me out this year- I thought we were not going to really do much this year since our anniversary is so close to Christmas, and we had gone on the cruise in October.

So, he got a candy bar poster
For my sake, since the picture is SO awful it said....
My Dearest "Bit-O-Honey",
You might "Snickers" at this but, I have more stars in my eyes for you than in the "Milky Way". We're closer than the "3 Musketeers", and whenever were in a "crunch", I know I can count on you to take "Extra Care" of me. Being with you is WAY better than "Pay Day"!
"York" "Extra" handsome, so seeing you still gives me "Butterfingers". So, Thanks for "Chews"ing me, The "Runts" because life with you as my "sweettart" is complete "Bliss".
I Love You Nick, Happy 2nd Anniversary!
Yours Always,
"Kit (Katie) Kat"

and "A Year of Fun in a Jar"
Just 52 coupons made just for him - So that he can have a day a week to do something HE wants to do. I figured that would come in handy (even more) when the baby gets here. :) Then to end the night we toasted to year 3!
The Last 2 years we have been so blessed. Things have fallen into place perfectly for us. We have had so much fun together learning the lessons of life. There isn't a better person in the world for me to go through them with either.
Nick is one of the most caring people I have ever met. I am so glad he chose me as his wife. I am SO lucky to have a husband that is a worthy priesthood holder, so sweet, loving, and helpful.
His brothers often tease him about being whipped, but I'm pretty sure he is just that great!

Festival of Trees '09

Last Night Nick, and I met up with Rob, and Amanda and we headed up to Sandy to see all the beautiful trees. We love going to the festival of trees each year. People decorate and donate hundreds of Christmas trees in loved ones names. They are auctioned off. All the proceeds go to primary Children's Hospital. This event holds kind of a special place in Nick's heart due to Alex spending so much time in Primary Children's. Its always a good reminder of the blessings we have, and is a great way to start of the Christmas season.

It's SO AMAZING what people come up with! This year there were so many creative trees! These were some of our favorites... (It was hard to choose a few, so here are a lot!) :)

Under the sea - Notice the shark tale for the star, and the shark mouth at the bottom.
Winnie The Pooh
1000 Paper Cranes
Dirt Bike Christmas- This one just FLAT OUT amazed me! They had a track going the whole way down the tree!
Japan & Fan
Mr Grinch
Hole in One - The golf balls that had been strung all over the tree, had been turned into snowmen. CUTE!

A Tackle box Christmas- This one is for you Dad. :)
Father Christmas
Happiest Place on Earth
Curious Little Monkey
Saddle Up Boys
Care Bear Christmas
Christmas in Candy Land- I LOVED the popcorn box full of gum balls!
For the Love of the Game, 100% Cougar Fan
Last But Not least, our top Favorites!

Nick LOVES the movie Nightmare Before Christmas. So when he saw this he got pretty excited!

Nicks Top Favorite Tree of the night- Nightmare Before Christmas
There was tie for Kate's top Favorite tree of the Night.
First, anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE milk! The Got Milk, and Have a Mooo..y Christmas tree was definitely one of my 2 top Favorites!
and....I cant forget my dedication to my favorite TV show growing up
I LOVE LUCY
We had a great night, and cant wait for next year!

T'was December 1st

Twas December 1st, at the Austin house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The Christmas Decorations are up, and the gifts are
wrapped. Now to enjoy the holiday season!

Watch where your standing or you just might get a big wet one! XOXO!

The Stockings are hung (Nick's is the Santa stocking, and mine is the Snowman)

Winter is Welcome! Now where is the Snow?!

Childhood Memories
Growing up I always had a Countdown to Christmas. It was tradition to put a little Christmas figurine in one of the boxes every night before bed. Back when my mom first made our family's countdown box, she also made my Grandma Cherry one. My Grandma gave me the countdown to use with our family (since she doesnt use it anymore) It was a lot of fun setting it up and I look forward to continuing this tradition when we have children.

Nick always kept track of how many days til Christmas with an advent calender. So we made sure to get one of those too. :)
We cant forget the true meaning of Christmas!
The day after Thanksgiving Nick and I headed over with my Family to pick out a Christmas tree. I don't think there is anything better than having a real Christmas tree at Christmas. It smells great, and looks so beautiful. Last Night we brought it in the house, and got it all set up, and decorated. :) Even though this is our 3rd Christmas being married this is the first time we got to put up our "1st Christmas Together" ornament. :) Nick and I in front of our First Real Christmas tree. (Sorry the picture is so dark. My Camera battery was dead, so the cell phone had to do)The finished product!
Even Samba got a little something to start of the Christmas Season!

Merry Christmas to ALL, and to ALL a good night!

I just might have a new favorite movie

My boss took me and 2 other co-workers to a movie today to reward us for completing a project we had been working on. It definitely just jumped to the top of the list of "Katelin's MOST favorite movies."

The Blind Side

Its a movie based on a true story It tells the story of an African-American teen that is accepted into an exclusive school based on the promise of his performance in sports. When it is discovered that he is homeless and spends his nights in the gym, a local woman takes it upon herself to welcome him into her home and her family.

It will definitely be MY feel good movie of the year. Along with teaching and reminding us of a few of life's great lessons, It reminded me to be kinder to others, and showed how much helping others can change your own life.

I definitely recommend this movie, and I CAN'T wait for it to come out onto DVD.

My Life is Average

I think we can all agree that some days at work just flat out DRAG. One shift can feel like a century....I was having one of those days yesterday. I swear the clock wasn't moving. One of my coworkers, and friends Wendy instant messaged me a link to a website that made the world, and clock start spinning.

My Life Is Average.
A website where "average" people can write about funny things that happen in their "average" lives.

www.mylifeisaverage.com

I don't think I have been so amused, and laughed so hard. So, next time youre having one of those days, where you just need a break, or you need time to move faster, check it out! It definitely got the clock rolling for me, and me rolling with laughter!

Im Thankful For My Family

My Aunt Holly posted a few pictures online that made me think how thankful I am for ALL my family. However, I want to focus on the Jensen family in this post.

For those of you who don't know, the Jensen family took my dad in when he was young, after he had joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In my dads words " they picked me up out of the gutter, brushed me off, and set me going the right direction."

Although they are not blood related, since the day I was born the Jensens have been my family. We have never been looked at as anything different. They have been our support, and are always there for each other.

They taught my dad what an eternal family is, and have included us in theirs.
Family trips to the cabin, skiing, boating, sleepovers at grandma, and grandpas, and aunts and uncles (sometimes for days at a time), old movies in grandma's bed with the cousins, monthly family home evenings on Sunday nights, cards for every occastion, sitting trough 4 high school graduations in a day, Grandpa's labor day breakfasts, caroling for Christmas, Thanksgiving feasts, hugs, kisses, and LOTS of laughs.

I will always be thankful to them for taking my dad in, and making us theirs. I am glad that I will get to be with them forever.

Here are a few pictures with SOME of the Jensen family.
