Happy Birthday Deeeaaarr Grandma, Happy Birthday to YOU!
This last weekend Nick and I joined the family for a birthday party for Grandma Austin. The whole family was there and we had a blast just chatting and eating all sorts of Cobbler, homemade ice cream, cookies, pie, fresh fruit etc. It was delicious!
The Desert BarI made a chocolate pudding cherry pie. I had never tried it before but it actually turned out really good, and the best part is, it was quick and easy. Perfect when you find out about an activity with short notice. (Nick folded up the invitation and put it in his back pocket, I didn't find it until doing laundry late the night before)
For any interested:
You take a graham cracker pie crust,
spread 1 cup of cherry pie filling on top of the crust (bottom of the pie).
Make 1 package of instant Jello Chocolate Pudding (using only 2 1/2 cups of milk) .
Put the pudding on top of the bottom layer of cherries.
Then add another cup of cherry pie filling on top of the pudding and outline the pie with whipped cream.
Chill for 2 hours.
Yummy.
ColtonAlex was so amused with the potato bugs crawling around everywhere. He would pick them up and carry them around showing everyone. He might have accidentally smashed a few. :)
