A Special Witness to Me
by: Steve Rife

(Inspired by one who stands as a Special Witness and taught me)
Matt. 13:9, 15-16, 43

Power bestowed on one
to motivate the many,
are the keys of the priesthood
doing good works a'plenty
Not by chance keys come to view the
Spirit will tell you why.
Seek out the widow or the one
hear and respond to their cry.
It should be no mystery,
clear priorities reveal,
teach all to covenant
worthy families to seal.
Press forward to the temple
where we, in faith may enter
seek after truth, through the Spirit
His children He will mentor.
False traditions of our fathers
must be questioned for sure,
Satan desires to weaken from
Christ he strives to lure.
Programs without purpose may
misuse resources galore.
Go seek and help the needy,
as our Savior did implore
For those seeking the right one,
Do not wait idly around.
Stay active and be faithful,
obey and you'll be crowned.
Honor holy covenants,
Gods promises are real.
Hold fast to the iron rodlike
rejoicing you will feel.
We must live within our means
use it up and wear it out!
See hardship as a blessing,
follow the provident route.
Poor decisions cause trouble,
the prophets warned us so.
Be faithful with our tithing
fast and pray, blessings will flow.
Serving only when we choose!
Unworthy of Heavenly nod.
Doing utmost in our callings
speaks commitment to our God.
Actions speak large volumes, so
be sure examples are for good.
Serve as the Lord commands--
others will know they should!
Want an eternal fam'ly?
Our convictions we must show.
Blessed with gifts, abilities,
About His business we must go.
Eagerly serve with focus,
there is a purpose and plan.
Give of means, time and talents,
in service to our fellow man.
Evil does much to sideline
many from serving the Lord.
Teach people to understand
the pure doctrine of His word.
Without the Holy Spirit
we cannot serve His purpose.
Act willingly, be ready
address real needs which surface.
We have a Father in Heav'n.
Each of us He knows by name.
He has a son named Jesus
Who sacrificed and took our blame.
A member of the Godhead.
the Spirit plays vital role.
To teach and to bear witness,

comfort and sanctify souls.
