Summer Vacation 2014 - California

This Summer we did a biggie!  We hit up sunny California for 10 days!  Thats right T.E.N beautiful days! While we were there we visited the happiest place on earth, Disneyland.  Seaworld, Universal Studios, The American Girl Doll Store, The LA LDS Temple and visitors center, the beach (naturally) as well as a quick overnight stop in Mesquite to play at the Casablanca Resort :)   I have been putting off getting this on the blog for a while now because throughout the trip pictures were taken on my camera, Kynsies camera, Moms cell phone etc. :)  The list keeps going on.  I have been waiting to get all the pictures together but... reality is... its almost the end of october and I am getting further and further behind each day I put blogging it. :)  SO, here is what I have, and if at some point we get organized  enough to get the others  together I will post a follow up :)

So, Lets get Started....

Disneyland-

Characters-   We had a 3 day hopper pass at Disneyland! It was a blast.  The girls were at a PERFECT age to go, and it was also a first for Kylee so the magic was well, magical? :)    They loved meeting all the characters!  The older kids were not always so excited about waiting in line to get a kiss on the hand from Buzz, but Kinley thought it was pretty special! :)

Mila also had a very special experience with Rapunzel.  She spent about 10 minutes with her after one of the shows ended.  She LOVES Tangled and so getting to meet her AND spend that much one on one time with her was literally a dream come true!  Pics are on Kynsie's camera so, I will go into more detail when I  get those... because Oh. My. Gosh. SO precious! :)

Disneyland Parade and Fantasia-
A trip to Disneyland would not be complete without watching the parade on Main Street and Fantasia!
The girls loved it and we made sure to get a spot right in the front row so they could see Anna and Elsa. The line to see theme was over 3 hours long.  I...think....not.... sorry girls but ummm... no.

We also wanted to get seats right up front for Fantasia because its Moms favorite show!
That meant about an hour wait sitting on pavement but it was worth it to see this smile! :)

We are so lucky we photograph so easily! We are so photogenic....*cough*

Rides-
Kinley was tall enough to ride almost all the rides!  She loved most of them but I think we scared her the first ride in.  Splash mountain was the first ride as soon as we walked into the park. I went with her the first time and held on to her REAL tight down the drop.  She thought it was a lot of fun and opted to go again immediately after with Nick, Kylee, and Tanner using  the stroller pass. However, Nick didn't hold on to her as tightly and she came off the second time saying she never wanted to go on that ride ever again in her whole life! :)  She was brave and went on lots of other big rides but was much more hesitant! :)

While we were waiting in line for Peter pan we happened to run into Kylee AND Kinley's dance teacher!

Kinley was very nervous to ride the big swings....

...it didn't take her very long to warm up.  To this day she talks about it because it was her FAVORITE ride out of them all!
Mila did a lot of this.  Guess the heat and all the driving, and late nights caught up to her :)
so sweet.

People-
Disneyland wouldn't be the same without the people you love!
We had so much fun and both girls want to go back already!

Ummm remember this?  Disneyland 2010.....

4 years later....   still loved Dad's shoulder! :)

Definitely the happiest place on earth!

Universal Studios-
Universal Studios was awesome!  Nobody in my family, nor I had ever been there before and Nick hadn't been since he was very little. It was so much fun getting to see all the scenes they have, and see the places where many shows I have seen were filmed!  Very cool and I learned a lot!  Kinley really enjoyed The Jurassic Park Ride (surprisingly enough) and Mila LOVED the dinosaur playground outside the ride!

This girl and her papa.  They are two of a kind, and both can definitely get a smile out of me! :)

My Model Siblings...  Haha!

I see, now it makes sense... :)
but we found some treasures inside!

I told you she was doing a lot of this. :)  could she be any sweeter?!

 Remember this? Disneyland trip 2010...
4 years later... gosh dang it girl!  Stop growing already!

Princess Fiona took one look at the empty stroller Mom was pushing and decided it was the perfect opportunity for a break!

Waiting in long lines may have resulted in some silliness... can we blame it on the heat?  yeah, I am going to go ahead and blame it on the heat... :)

Kinley had it easy when she got tired.  The little princess got royal treatment!

Mila and I hung out at the Dinosaur park while everyone else was going on a few rides!  She was loving it!
Kinley joined us a little later :)

Nick and I left the girls with my Mom and Dad while we went on Transformers.   This is what I came back to find... apparently Mila just went right up to him and started talking to him.... LOL.  For being such a cautious baby she has made progress... maybe a little too much... LOL!

I dont think he was too used to kids wanting hugs :)

On the backstage 2 hour tour!  It was awesome!  Long but totally worth it!  It was my favorite part!

By the end of the day everyone was pretty worn out. :)
 We had so much fun!

LDS LA Temple and Visitors Center-
On Sunday we found a local ward and went to sacrament meeting.  After, we decided to swing by the LA temple since none of us had seen it.
It was beautiful!  We were able to visit with some sister missionaries in the visitors center too.  It made Kynsie a little "home"sick for her mission again, and got Tyler excited to go!  It was a beautiful temple!

Kinley in front of the temple.  Mila was all over the place! She wanted nothing to do with holding still for a picture in front of the temple.

Mila Loves putting her hands in her pockets.  Its kinda her signature stance :)

As We were getting ready to leave we got to see something pretty awesome! The Temple was reflecting in the clouds!  The picture doesn't do it justice but it was one of the neatest things I have ever seen!

So wonderful being able to take some time out of a busy vacation to remember our Savior and take the time to reflect and teach my children!  So thankful, we are a forever family thanks to the sealing ordinances.

The Beach & American Girl Doll Store-

The Day we went to the beach we all slept in and got some much needed rest!  After breakfast the girls then started braiding hair.  Everyone got a french braid of some sort before heading to the beach.  The men in the family were a little less than happy about the wait... however, it was fun :) maybe they wouldn't have been so grumpy about it if they would have joined in on the fun! ;)

Ahh, the beach. :)  We spent about half day at the beach.  It was nice to just lay back and relax for a little while. :)

My little Beach babe :)

remember this?
Playing in the sand back in 2012
1.5 years later...
that didn't change!
Mila LOVED playing in the sand!

Lookie how handsome!

Remember this?
November 2012
1.5 years later...
thankfully this did change!
Mila also loved her time in the water this time around!

Obviously so did Tyler and Tanner!

 ...and Kylee

a few hours in Mila got sleepy.  Moments after taking this Nick handed Mila off to me and We took a snooze on the sand for the rest of the time we were there.  It was so nice to just hold her and enjoy the breeze and people watching :)

but I was too busy enjoying my little beach baby to take any more picture so... the end. :)

at about 6pm Nick, Me, Mom, Dad, Kinley, Mila, and Ky left the others at the beach and we headed back to LA for
THE AMERICAN GIRL DOLL STORE!! yay!

Every little girl... or grown girls dream... and every Dad's nightmare.  Oh the money that can be spent there! :)

This is what we found as we pulled in the parking garage. :) hahah!

Kinley found out she was most definitely not going to be taking a doll home with her..... :)
She cheered up pretty quick and decided she could wait and ask Santa for one. :)
Mila was less than pleased when we made her leave the bitty baby there too. :)
I feel them... I kinda wanted to take one home too ;)

Lovin' the photobomb papa.

Now for the most unflattering pictures I think I have EVER taken but hey... you cannot accuse me of not jumping right in and having fun!

We definitely made a Splash in California this year!
(puns intended)
*wink*
