Baby Update

Well, there have been a few changes, and big things that have happened the last few days- the main thing.....I am due the Middle of February...or should I say was. I am going to be induced in 1 week (at the latest).

This last Monday I woke up and was SO SWOLLEN I could hardly close my hand into a fist. So, I decided to call the doctor and get checked up on. Good thing I did. My blood pressure was through the roof due to water retention.

As of Monday the Doctor put put me on bed rest for 2 weeks and said at that point they would induce me.

Today I had a follow up appointment. I thought I was going to get an A+ on my bed rest. I lost 7 lbs of water weight and could see my ankle bone. :) That was HUGE progress....then they took my blood pressure.... It was higher than it had been on Monday, and I had higher protein levels. So, they sent me off to the hospital for a non stress test and said that they want to induce me in a week.

So, as of now we will see where I am at next week after more bed rest, 2 more stress tests, a doctors apt, and an ultrasound to measure the baby's growth to make sure he/she is ready and developed enough to come.

I will keep you updated!

That is no good! I'm sorry. I'm sure it'll all work out, but that gets scary. Good luck. I sure he/she will be a doll.

Wow that's intense! I hope you are feeling ok through it all. It's always kind of stressful when you don't really know what's going on. But in our experience everything tends to work out just fine, so take it easy, get some sleep -- and in one week you are going to be a happy mama! :o) I'm excited for you.

Oh my! That's in between good and bad news, right? Nobody likes high blood pressure, but I'm sure it's a good feeling to know that your baby will be coming sometime next week. Woo hoo. I miss you! :)
