Rain Rain Dont Go Away! (It made it kinda fun)

This Saturday Nick and I went with some friends (Holly & Aaron) to Salem Days to watch the fireworks. We had a lot of fun.

The day started off a little slow, we got there at about 4pm...just in time for all of the days activities to start closing down and cleaning up. :D So, we walked around, chatted, went to dinner (Mexican, LOVE IT!) and waited for the fireworks to start.

Here are a few of the happenings during the day :)


1) Nick lost his wedding ring in the grass...
(maybe he will learn to keep it on his finger) ;)

We were all sitting at a picnic table talking, Nick had taken his ring off and was spinning it on the table. It bounced off the table into the grass...It started off with just Holly, Aaron, Nick and I looking for it..but people started looking at us and wondered what we were doing...4 adults crawling around on the ground under a picnic table had to look pretty funny. :) People started asking what we were looking for and in the end there were about 10 people helping us look for it. Luckily We found it after about 10-15 min of looking.

2) We went and watched Chris, Nicks little brother, dance in the Salem day's show

(sorry, I tried taking a picture of them dancing...but they were moving too much and I didn't get a good one)

3) Then the lightning started... but what about the fireworks?!

One of the main reasons that we went to Salem days was to see the firework show after the pagent was over.

The thunder and lightning just got worse as time went on and then the drops of rain started.

Q: When have you EVER watched fireworks in a thunderstorm?!
A: Never!

There is NO way they would do the fireworks now.
As we watched all the people get up and start leaving, the rain started pouring. We thought about packing up and heading back to the car to go home before we got too soaked...and then the lights went off,
and you will never guess what happened... the fireworks still started, lightning and all!

I know I have put up a whole bunch of firework pictures the past little while, but I think they are hecka fun! :D

5) Kiss in the Rain for Melani

As I was sitting in the rain with Nick watching the fireworks, sopping wet, and soaked to the bone still sitting in the pouring rain, I thought of my dear Friend Melani Jensen. :) We have been friends for quite a while now and I love her to pieces! She always tells me that she thinks the most romantic thing ever is a kiss in the rain. :)
Well, I made Nick get up and take a picture just for her! Not ONLY in the rain but at a firework show too!!
