Bear Lake

Okay so its May and its almost been a year.  I had kinda convinced myself that my chatbooks were enough...  However,  if I am going to be honest.... It was just because I had fallen so behind.  Recently I have been thinking a lot about the blog and realized that Chatbooks are great, but it should be an add-on...it just cannot make up for a place where I can put ALL my pictures and write more about the experiences we have as a family.

We went up to Bear Lake with Megan and Joe and their family this last summer.  Joe was doing some work on a few trailers up there and the family that owns them let us use them that week.  They also let us have access to the private entrance to the lake and park, as well as their 4 wheelers!  It was fun to hang out all week with friends :)  Seth and Meagan also joined us for a few nights and it was so good for Kinley and Weston to get to spend some time with Sage since they moved.

ALSO,  part way through the week Grandma, Papa, Tanner, and Kylee joined in on the fun!

The girls were so excited to go.  The car was packed to the brim, a movie was on and we were off!

Sage, Weston, Kinley, and Myler

Kennedi (Kenz) and Mila  were pulling this wagon full of rocks they had collected and were just cracking up. :) It was too dang cute!

Mila and Kenz -twinners on accident!  Great minds think alike :)

Kinley collected shells for almost a whole day and filled this to the top.  They actually came home with us (because she wanted to use them for art.)  We JUST threw the rest of them away about a week ago. :)

 Papa and Grandma

Weston and Kinley

Nick got super burned even though he was slathering on the sun screen...:) Im glad the girls both got my skin.

This was hands down my favorite part of the beach.  Mila got cold and came and snuggled up with me.  She slept with me on the beach for about 2 hours. It was awesome to just lay back and watch Kinley and Nick play while snuggling this sweet thing that is sometimes just too busy playing to slow down and nap with me much anymore. :)

Mila was TERRIFIED of going on the 4 wheeler.  However, by the last day there I was able to get her to take a ride with me and She LOVED it! She has always been more cautions than Kinley ever was and sometimes thats a really good thing... Im just glad she finally gave it a shot! :)

After Megan and Joe left we decided to stay a few days longer at the local KOA and just throw up a tent.  Seriously, is there anything better than tin foil dinners, relaxing by the campfire, and just getting a little dirty?!

nope.

It was pretty perfect!

Look at this girl with her backwards hat!  I love it!

after dinner and roasting marshmallows we got the girls to sleep and...

This handsome man and I stayed up late hanging out by the fire.  We stayed up til Midnight and had a front row seat to something I have never before been able to experience.  A HUGE Meteor shower! We watched a little later than we should have, however,  it went on for HOURS!

The next morning we took advantage of all the fun activities surrounding us.  We started the morning off with a tandem bike ride.  okay, so OH. MY. Gosh.... I know I am not in the greatest shape of my life but lugging those 2 girls and the rest of the bike was hard work...both Nick and I were peddling but I was seriously sweating up a storm, and breathing like I was in labor or something.  The WORST part about it was that it didnt seem to even be phasing Nick at all.  well, about a mile or so into it we realized Nicks chain was broken so even though he was peddling I was pulling ALL of them on my own.  It got a lot easier when he got off and started walking. :)

We also played on the bouncy air bag. :)  It was so crazy bouncy!

The campsite playground was a huge hit also.  It was just so much fun to have no official plans.  We were able to just play all week, take as much time as needed to let the kids explore, and not feel rushed.  Just some real quality time.

On the way home Nick found a spot where there were a bunch of cool rocks and reports of people being able to find fossils. so we decided to take a little pit stop and go look.

we actually found a few things and the girls had tons of fun looking for "bones"

Its happening again this year.

all of it.
